GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Hiram College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 NCAC decision at DePauw (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers see their record fall to 5-5-2 on the season and 1-2-0 in the conference, while the Tigers improve to 8-1-2 and remain perfect in NCAC play at 3-0-0.
The match was defense oriented, with a total of six shots being taken in a scoreless first half.
In the second half, DePauw was able to convert the game winning goal at the 76:21 mark, when Jonathan Wheeler finished off a cross.
A last effort corner kick by senior Richie Webb (London, England/Laude Lady Elizabeth Academy) came up empty to give DePauw the win.
Senior goalkeeper Matt Sacher (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) made three saves in goal.
The Tigers owned a 9-4 edge in shots and a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Terriers will pay next on Wednesday, with another conference road contest at Allegheny (Pa.) at 7 p.m.
