HIRAM, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's soccer team dropped its regular season finale by a 2-0 score to No. 17-ranked Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday evening.

The Terriers end their season at 8-8-2 and 3-4-2 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops improve to 14-3-2, 8-0-1.

The win also gives Ohio Wesleyan the outright NCAC championship.

In the 20th minute, senior Ryan Kramarz (Chesterland/West Geauga) sent a cross into the box. Freshman Zac Cairns (North Olmsted/St. Edward) took a leaping header towards the goal that was saved.

The Battling Bishops outshot the Terriers 7-2 in the first half, but the score was tied at 0-0 heading into halftime.

Ohio Wesleyan would strike in the early moments of the second half, taking a 1-0 lead.

OWU had another scoring opportunity minutes later, firing three shots. But all three attempts were blocked by the Hiram defense.

In the 65th minute, Kramarz sent a cross to junior Richie Webb (London, England/Laude Lady Elizabeth School). Webb took a sliding shot towards the goal, but Battling Bishop goalie Colin Beemiller made a diving stop.

The Battling Bishops added another goal in the 74th minute to put the game away.

Freshman goalkeeper Luke Wilhelm (Shaker Heights/University) made three saves for the Terriers.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Hiram 15-7 and held a 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
