HIRAM, OHIO -- Freshman Kyle Watson (Warren/Howland) scored his first career goal as the Hiram College men's soccer team tied Oberlin 1-1 on Saturday evening at Henry Field.

The Terriers move to 6-6-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in the NCAC, while the Yeomen are now 4-5-2, 1-1-1.

Watson's goal came at the 15:44 mark of the first half.

Junior Richie Webb (London, England/Laude Lady Elizabeth School) sent a cross into the box. Watson dove towards the net and connected on a header, that found the bottom left of the net.

The assist was Webb's team leading fifth of the season.

Oberlin would tie the game in the 71st minute, on John Ingham's sixth goal of the season.

An apparent goal by Hiram in the 89th minute was waived off, sending the game to overtime.

In the first overtime, Oberlin's Nick Wertman rocketed a free kick from about 30 yards out, but freshman Luke Wilhelm (Shaker Heights/University) made a diving save to keep things tied at 1-1.

Ingham would fire a shot late in the first overtime and Wilhelm was there to make the stop again.

In the second overtime, senior Ryan Kramarz (Chesterland/West Geauga) fired a shot that was saved by the Yeoman goalie.

Kramarz had a chance moments later when he dribbled the length of the field, but his shot went wide right.

Wilhelm finished the match with three saves for Hiram and is now 1-0-1 on the season.

Oidie Kuijpers made five saves in goal for the Yeomen.

The Terriers took 17 shots in the game, compared to nine for Oberlin.

Hiram will return to action on Wednesday, when it ends its three game homestand against Allegheny (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m.
