Men's Soccer falls to Case Western, 2-0

CLEVELAND, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's soccer team fell at Case Western 2-0 on Wednesday evening.

The Terriers fall to 5-6-0 on the season, while the Spartans bump their record to 6-3-1.

The first half saw neither team scoring, with Case Western holding a slim 4-3 lead in shots.

The Spartans would strike for a goal early in the second half to jump in front 1-0.

Case Western added another goal midway through the second, expanding its lead to 2-0.

The Terriers would look to answer, but the Spartans defense held tough to preserve the win.

Freshman Peterson Occilien (Columbia, S.C./Blythewood) led Hiram with three shots in the contest.

Junior goalkeeper Matt Sacher (Akron/Coventry) made one save in one scoreless half of action. Sophomore Chris Lindemeyer (Lodi/Cloverleaf) made one save in one half and drops to 1-2-0 on the year.

The Spartans took 10 shots, four of which were on goal. The Terriers fired seven shots, with two being on goal.

Case Western took four corner kicks and HC took one.

Hiram will play next on Saturday, when it hosts Denison in a NCAC contest. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
