Men's Soccer Defeated by No. 2 Ohio Wesleyan in Season Finale

DELAWARE, OHIO  --  The Hiram College men's soccer team was defeated by No. 2 nationally-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-0, in the North Coast Athletic Conference and season finale in Delaware.

Ohio Wesleyan (18-0-2, 7-0-2 NCAC) scored its first goal at the 13:43 minute mark of the first half with an unassisted goal by Colton Bloecher.  The goal was the only point scored in the first 45 minutes as the Battling Bishops led 1-0 at the intermission.

In the second half, OWU padded its lead with a goal during the 73rd minute by Taylor Rieger to extend the margin to 2-0.  Hiram (5-13-1, 2-7 NCAC) had three shots in the second period, but none would find its mark as OWU went on to post the 2-0 shutout victory.

In goal for Hiram, junior Chris Minite (Aurora) played all 90 minutes allowing two goals and had seven saves.  He was also given the loss and ends the season with a 3-10 overall record.
