Box Score HIRAM, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's soccer team was defeated by Kenyon College, 6-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at Charles A. Henry Field.
Kenyon (12-3-2, 5-0-2 NCAC) scored three times in the first half, beginning with a score at the 12:44 minute mark off the foot of Alistar Flynn to give the Lords a 1-0 lead. Just under two minutes later, Kenyon struck again, this time with a goal by Tony Amolo to increase the margin to 2-0. Near the end of the period, the Lords found the back of the net one more time with a marker by Josh Lee as Kenyon took a sizeable 3-0 advantage heading into the locker rooms.
In the second half, Kenyon continued the scoring with Amolo's second score of the game at the 52:23 minute mark makig the score 4-0. The Lords added two more scores, including a second goal from Flynn, and then a goal by Nicholas Patterson to round out the scoring as Kenyon cruised to the 6-0 shutout.
In net for Hiram (5-11-1, 2-5 NCAC), junior Chris Minite (Aurora) starting the game and played 45 minutes allowing three goals and had one save. He was also credited with the loss and is now 3-8 overall for the season. Freshman Chris Lindemeyer (Lodi/Cloverleaf) came on to play the final 45 minutes and gave up three goals while making four saves.
Hiram will host The College of Wooster on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in a NCAC game at Henry Field in the home finale. It will be senior night with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m.
