Men's Soccer Edged By Allegheny (Pa.)

MEADVILLE, PA.  --  The Hiram College men's soccer team fell to Allegheny (Pa.) College, 2-1, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Meadville, Pa.

Hiram (4-10-1, 1-4 NCAC) struck first with a goal at the 17:42 minute mark from junior Ryan Kramarz (Chesterland/West Geauga) to give the Terriers an early 1-0 lead.  Freshman Jake Pastore (Canton/GlenOak) was credited with an assist.  Just before the end of the half, Allegheny (7-3-3, 2-1-1 NCAC) evened the score with a goal of its own putting both teams in a 1-1 tie at halftime.

In the second half, the Gators recorded what turned out to be the only goal of the period during the 73rd minute off of a rebound allowing Allegheny to come away with the 2-1 victory.

Hiram junior netminder Chris Minite (Aurora) started the game and played all 90 minutes.  He allowed two goals and had three saves.  Minite was also credited with the loss and falls to 2-7 overall for the season.

Hiram will look to end its four-game losing streak when it hosts Wittenberg University in a NCAC game on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Charles A. Henry Field.  The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
