Box Score OBERLIN, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's soccer team lost to Oberlin College, 2-1, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Oberlin.
All three goals scored in the game came during the final 45 minutes with Oberlin (10-1-2, 2-0-1 NCAC) getting on the board first with a goal at the 49:40 minute mark giving the Yeomen the 1-0 lead. Just past the midway point of the half, Hiram (4-9-1, 1-3 NCAC) evened the game at a goal apiece with a score from All-NCAC Brian Zilla (Canton/Jackson) during the 75th minute with an assist from freshman John Pretzlav (Chagrin Falls/Kenston). The Yeomen netted what turned out to be the game winner just before the end of regulation during the 88th minute to go on to the 2-1 victory.
In net for Hiram, junior Chris Minite (Aurora) played all 90 minutes and allowed two goals while making four saves. He was also credited with the loss and is now 2-6 overall for the season.
Hiram will travel to Meadville, Pa. for a NCAC game against Allegheny (Pa.) College on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
