Box Score HIRAM, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's soccer team posted its second straight shutout in as many days with a 2-0 victory against Waynesburg (Pa.) College at the Charles A. Henry Field.
The Terriers remain unbeaten this season with the win and improve to 4-0 overall. The Yellow Jackets fall to 2-2 overall for the season.
Sophomore midfielder Ryan Kramarz (Chesterland/West Geauga) scored the only goal of the first half, and what would turn out to be the game-winner, just before the end of the period at the 41:04 minute mark to give the Terriers a 1-0 edge at halftime. Senior All-North Coast Athletic Conference defenseman Dan O'Callaghan (Aberdale, Wales, United Kingdom) was credited with an assist on the Kramarz goal.
In the second half, junior midfielder Manolo Angel (Mexico City, Mexico/Colegio Vista Hermosa) gave Hiram some breathing room with a goal during the 67th minute with an assist from Kramarz extending the margin to 2-0. Waynesburg failed to score in the final minutes as the Terriers went on to claim the 2-0 shutout.
Senior All-North Coast Athletic Conference goalkeeper Joe Rottinger (Strongsville) got the win and is now 3-0 on the year. He has also posted back-to-back shutout victories. In 90 minutes, he made two saves while not allowing a goal.
Hiram is scheduled to host Marietta College on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
