Box Score STEUBENVILLE, OHIO -- Junior midfielder Andy Harding (Bath/Revere) scored four goals in a 6-0 shutout against Franciscan University in Steubenville.
The Terriers remain unbeaten so far this season and now have a 6-0 record. The Barons fall to 0-5 overall for the season.
Hiram needed just eight minutes to record the first goal of the game when Harding found the back of the net for his goal at the 8:05 minute mark with an assist from Caleb Capron. The Terriers increased the margin to two goals when senior All-Region midfielder Ryan Greenhill (Solon) scored an unassisted goal during the 12th minute making the score 2-0. Hiram recorded the final goal of the first period at the 18:44 mark when Harding connected on his second goal that included an assist from senior All-Region forward Ryan Minick (North Royalton) to give the Terriers a 3-0 lead at the intermission.
In the second half, Hiram padded its lead with three goals, including the first two being scored by Harding during the 61st and 63rd minutes. Both goals were unassisted. Sophomore midfielder Marcus Lawniczak (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ypsilanti) scored the final goal of the game at the 69:49 mark with an assist from junior defender Brian Zilla (Canton/Jackson) as the Terriers cruised to the 6-0 victory.
Sophomore Chris Minite (Aurora) played all 90 minutes to claim his second win of the season, and his first shutout, to improve to 2-0 overall. He allowed no goals and made one save.
Hiram returns to action tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 16) when the Terriers host John Carroll University. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field.
