Box Score

HIRAM, OHIO  --  The No. 24 nationally-ranked Hiram College men's soccer team came away with a 2-0 victory against Denison University in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at Charles A. Henry Field on Senior Night.

Hiram (13-2-1, 4-2-1 NCAC) outshot Denison (8-6-2, 4-3-1 NCAC) in the first half by a margin of, 8-2, and scored the only goal of the period at the 11:36 minute mark off the foot of junior midfielder Andy Harding (Bath/Revere) with an assist from senior All-Region forward Ryan Minick (North Royalton) to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead at the break.

Hiram maintained its one-goal edge until the 59th minute when the duo of Minick and Harding hooked up again, this time with Minick scoring the goal and Harding getting the assist to pad the lead to 2-0.  The two goals turned out to be all that Hiram needed, as Denison tallied eight shots in the game, but could not get any past freshman Hiram goaltender Kirby Rice (Copley) as the Terriers went on to claim the 2-0 shutout.

Rice played the entire game for Hiram in net allowing no goals while making three saves.  He improves to 2-0 overall for the season and also records his first shutout victory.

Hiram wrap up the final week of the regular season on the road beginning with a NCAC matchup against The College of Wooster on Wednesday, Oct. 24.  The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in Wooster.
