Men's Preview

Under Matt Campbell's second season as head coach for the Terriers, the men's team finished the regular season with a 7-2 overall record. This marks a .778 win percentage and follows up a perfect 8-0 record from the previous season. In two seasons as head coach, Campbell has spearheaded the team to a 15-2 record in dual meets.. Campbell and the rest of the Terriers roster are solidifying Hiram swimming as a legitimate team in the PAC not only for the present, but also for years to come.

In 2025-26, the men's swim team finished 4-0 in the conference, which puts them at the top of the overall standings in the conference. One key conference win for the Terriers was when they traveled to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to face Westminster on November 15 and picked up a road win (136-81).

The men's team is currently riding a three-meet win streak, which gives the men a lot of momentum and confidence going into the conference championship, which begins on Wednesday evening in Grove City, PA.

The Terriers have a healthy mix of veteran upperclassmen and underclassmen, highlighted by seniors Owen Pastorius and Jon Hybil, who have had a reputation of having consistent seasons as well as competing with some of the best competition in the country at the Division III level in the North Coast Athletic Conference. In addition to the senior duo are juniors Joe Krosky, David Slovenkay, and Ethan O'Malley, who are looking to perform at the highest level in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship.

Pastorius is currently ranked third in the conference in the 1650-yard and 500-yard freestyle, as well as a top-eight time in the 200-yard freestyle. Hybil is ranked top-10 in the 100-yard breastroke and 200-yard breastroke. Krosky is ranked in the top-15 in the 200-yard butterfly and 400 individual medley. Slovenkay is ranked in the top-15 in the 100-yard backstroke, top-10 in the 200-yard backstroke, and top-20 in the 200-yard freestyle. O'Malley is ranked 36th out of almost 90 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle and ranked 40th out of 70 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle.

Sophomores Ethan Drake and Tanner Markley are both ranked in the conference for their main events. Markley is on the cusp of being 25th overall in the 100-yard backstroke, and also is 23rd in the 200-yard backstroke. Drake is ranked in the top-20 in the conference for the 1650-yard freestyle, top-30 in the 200-yard butterfly as well as 18th in the 400-yard individual medley.

Freshmen Elijah Gilman and Morrodox Sisowath are also getting ready to experience their first collegiate conference championship meet. Gilman is ranked in the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard backstroke. Sisowath is ranked 38th out of over 50 swimmers in the 200-yard freestyle and 49th out of 70 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle.

When it comes to his expectations for the men's team, Campbell expects some 'A-final' swims as well as a good amount of 'B-final' swims, in addition to numerous personal bests. Campbell also believes that the men's team has a lot of potential to be close to some program relay records.

Coach Campbell is also optimistic not only for the PAC Championships, but also for the future of the program.

"We are looking to bring in (even more) high-quality, all-around performing swimmers," Campbell said.

Women's Preview

The Hiram women's swimming team has found ways to improve, with multiple personal bests and consistent swims throughout the season. One notable win for the women's team this season was on senior day against Bluffton, which provided a fantastic opportunity for both the men's and women's team to celebrate senior day in victorious fashion.

Seniors Grace Basham and Becca Johnston have been integral parts of the team since their freshmen years and have seen a lot of wonderful and talented swimmers come and go. This week marks an opportunity for the veteran tandem to leave everything out there at the PAC Championship meet.

These two student-athletes have also been role models and shining examples of hard work and dedication to the team. First-year Mya Libertine is also going to be the foundation for the future classes of Hiram women's swimmers as the recruiting classes continue to grow.

When it comes to individual rankings, Basham is ranked top-40 in the 500-yard freestyle, top-50 in the 100-yard freestyle, and 35th out of 50+ swimmers in the 50-yard backstroke. Johnston is ranked 31st in the 200-yard breastroke, as well as 36th in the 100-yard breastroke. Lastly, Libertine is ranked 63rd out of 80+ swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle, 40th in the 200-yard individual medley and 49th in the 100-yard butterfly.

Campbell wants the women's team to focus on performing to the best of their abilities and setting the foundation for a bright and loaded freshman class that will soon be filling in the gaps of the two graduating seniors.
