Terriers Compete On Third Day of PAC Championships

Terriers Swim Hard In Friday Events at PAC Championships

GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania- February 20, 2026- The Hiram Terrier swimming program took on the challenge in what was the third day out of four at the PAC Swim & Dive Championships. The Terriers performed consistently and put out some impressive results on Friday morning and evening.

On the women's side, there were many outstanding individual performances, which led to a very successful day in the pool. In the 100-yard butterfly, Mya Libertine swam a time of 1:15.42, which was an impressive result. Later in the meet, in the 100-yard backstroke, Grace Basham swam a time of 1:13.59. Finally, in the 100-yard breaststroke, Becca Johnston qualified for the final swimming a time of 1:30.02. She would beat that mark in the finals, posting a time of 1:29.79.

On the men's side, there were also many impressive performances, which helped the Terriers to a strong finish on the third day.  In the 200-yard freestyle, Owen Pastorius finished 7th with a time of 1:48.90, which was good enough to qualify for the final in that event. Also qualifying in that event was David Slovenkay, who finished 13th with a time of 1:52.00. The pair placed seventh (Pastorius, 1:48.74) and 14th (Slovenkay, 1:53.42) in the A- and B-Final respectively.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Jon Hybil qualified, finishing in ninth place with a time of 1:01.24. Hybil would improve upon that time and win the B-Final in the event with a mark of 1:00.41.

Qualifying in the 100-yard backstroke was Slovenkay, Tanner Markley, and Elijah Gilman, who each swam a time of 57.64,1:03.67, and 1:17.14, respectively. Slovenkay would have the best time of the three in the finals for that event, winning the B-Final with a time of 57.42. 

In the 400 IM, Ethan Drake qualified, swimming a time of 5:28.10 in that event before surging his way to an improved time of 5:22.11 in the final. Finally, in the 100-meter butterfly, Joe Krosky qualified, swimming a time of 58.81. Krosky placed 14th in the final for that event during the evening session.

The Terriers will be back at Grove City College on Saturday for the final day of the PAC Swim Championships.
