HIRAM, Ohio- February 16, 2026- Ian Amaranto of men's hockey and Karalyn Rutkowski of track and field have earned this week's edition of Terriers of the Week. This achievement comes after impressive performances by each student-athlete, which led to these athletes being selected by the Hiram Sports information Department.

Amaranto was outstanding in his games played vs Concordia and at Albertus Magnus, recording 118 total saves in both games, with a save percentage of .927 in both games combined. In the game versus Concordia, the freshman from Johnstown, PA was very impressive, recording 55 total saves and having a save percentage of .982 for that single game. Amaranto and the men's hockey team will be back in action on Friday, when they host St John Fisher for a game at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rutkowski earned first place in the high jump at the All-Ohio Championships (1.63 meters, 5-4.25) on Saturday, which marked a new personal best for the senior from Middlefield, OH. Rutkowski finished 3 inches ahead of the next athlete, which marked a dominant performance in the high jump. That mark also places Rutkowski in a tie for 35th place in all of Division III in the indoor high jump. Rutkowski and the track & field team will be back in action on Friday, when they travel to Mount Union for the Mount Union Tuneup.
