Hiram, Ohio- February 9, 2026- Allydia Byard, DeAco Curry, and Darren Chiang have all earned Terrier of the Week Honors! This comes after impressive individual performances by each student-athlete, which led to a few accomplishments by each student-athlete.

Byard nearly found her way to the top of the leaderboard in the 160-lb bracket at the AMCC Championships this past Saturday, beating Alfred State's Allison Strausbaugh by fall (1:49) and her teammate, Cicely Cullins, by fall (0:56). A loss to Elmira's Talia Robles (fall, 2:45) proved to be the final result, but still gave Byard a second-place finish in one of the larger brackets of the event. It marks the second straight season in which Byard has earned All-AMCC honors, making her the first in program history to achieve the feat. The senior from Greenwich, Ohio has made an impressive mark in postseason play this season.

Curry set the new Hiram indoor program record in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 1:55.66 to beat his previous personal best, as well as the program's previous record of 1:57.25 (Aidan Shiels, 2026). Curry ranked 11th out of 42 student-athletes in the event, which primarily included Division II competition. The senior from Barberton, Ohio will look to continue his impressive mid-distance form next week, when the track & field team travels to Oberlin and Otterbein for two weekend meets.

Highlighting Saturday's match against Hilbert was Darren Chiang, who set the program record with 52 assists in his return to the starting lineup inside Price Gymnasium. Chiang passed his former teammate, Matthew Albano, who had the previous record with 51 assists at Grove City in April 2025. Chiang beat his previous career-best of 49 assists, which came last Saturday against Penn State Altoona. He helped fuel a Terriers attack that had more than 10 kills in every set as part of a four-set win over the Hawks. The junior from Markham, Ontario will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Geneva College for the team's PAC opener.
