HIRAM, Ohio - March 9, 2026 - Hiram's Micky Morgan and Sam Volpe were named Terriers of the Week for the week of Mar. 2-8, as announced by the Hiram Sports Information Department on Monday. Morgan scored the Terriers' first game-winning goal of the season to fuel a victory on Sunday, while Volpe continued to climb the regional rankings with a record-setting mark in the shot put on Saturday.

The "Terriers of the Week" is a weekly series that runs throughout the year, recognizing the student-athletes who performed at a high level during the previous week of competition. Each student-athlete will be mentioned in the weekly article, along with holding a section at the bottom of the Hiram Terriers website under "Terrier Spotlight."

It was a day of firsts for Morgan on Sunday, as the senior from Clayton, OH tallied his first multi-goal game of the season (three goals) and recorded Hiram's first game-winning goal as part of an 8-6 win over Averett. Morgan now has 37 goals for this career, as he looks to join an exclusive group and become the 10th player in program history to reach 50 career goals.

Volpe also had a "first" of her own, throwing an indoor program record distance of 13.14m (43'1.50") in the shot put at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier, which also marked her first-ever throw of at least 13.0m. The senior from Concord, OH now ranks fifth in the Great Lakes Region after beating her previous best of 12.92m (42' 4.75").

Hiram Athletics continues on this week, with a combined 20 sporting events between four different teams over the next six days.
