HIRAM, Ohio - May 28, 2025 - Darian Kanno found herself in rare company on Wednesday evening, as she joined Giselle Bahena (2022) and Whitney Dropsey (2010) as the only All-Americans in program history. The senior pitcher/utility earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Second Team, as announced by the organization during the NCAA Division III Championship Banquet in Bloomington, IL.

Kanno, who has already earned five All-NCAC selections and four NFCA All-Region selections over four seasons, caps off her career with the most prestigious honor a collegiate athlete can earn. She landed the honor as a pitcher and utility player following a 2025 season that displayed elite numbers in both the circle and batter's box.

The Mililani, HI native batted .467/.528/.819 (1.347 OPS) with 14 doubles, four triples, five home runs and 31 RBI. She led the North Coast Athletic Conference in batting average and ranked second in both slugging and on-base percentage, with all three of those marks also ranking among the top-60 student-athletes in all of Division III.

Kanno's hitting numbers were coupled with some of the best pitching numbers across the country, too; she finished the 2025 campaign with a 13-6 record and 1.45 ERA, which included 138 strikeouts in 121 innings. The senior notably started the season with a 12-0 record over 12 outings, dominating with multiple pitch offerings and complete command of the strike zone during that span.

As things currently stand, Kanno holds the Hiram program hitting records in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, triples, total bases and sacrifice flies. As a pitcher, she holds the Terriers' all-time marks in earned run average, opposing batting average, strikeouts, wins and saves.

While Kanno's playing career has come to a close, she departs the program having led it to a combined 99 wins in four years. The team won two NCAC Tournament titles and advanced to their first ever NCAA Super Regional during that memorable span.

Hiram Softball will return to the field in the spring of 2026, when it will look to chase a PAC Tournament title and return to the NCAA Tourney.
