ALBION, Mich. – November 20, 2021 – Hiram women's wrestling finished in sixth place at the Albion Invitational posting 15.0 points as the women competed in their third event of the year.
Wrestling at 109 lbs.,
Kylee Bentley took home the most points of any Terrier with 11. Bentley secured two victories for the event defeating Gwenyth Simpson of Gannon University and Keira Koehler of Adrian both by fall. The Hubbard, Ohio native finished in fourth place in her weight class.
Katie Vogt-Shields competed at 155 lbs. picking up 3.0 points. Vogt-Shields won by fall over Jasmine Hale of Adrian as she finished in fourth place.
At 116 lbs.
Kenedi Keesey faced off against three members of the Aurora squad notching 2.0 points and finishing in fourth place.
Bethany Smith, at 130 lbs., faced off in four bouts on the morning finishing in fifth place.
JoRee Ybarra, wrestling at 191 lbs., faced off against Amara Devericks of Gannon University twice falling in both bouts by fall. Ybarra finished in second place at 191 lbs.
Hiram's 15.0 team points are the most scored in any event on the young season. The women next hit the mat for a dual mat at Lourdes on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.
