ALTOONA, Pennsylvania - December 6, 2025 - The annual AMCC Duals were a success for the Hiram women's wrestling team on Saturday, as the Terriers went 3-2 over their five duals against conference competition. Included in those strong results were wins over Penn State Altoona (30-14), Buffalo State (34-0) and Alfred State (25-18).

Hiram is now 6-8 in duals on the season, although that record includes a 5-3 clip against AMCC opponents.

In a 32-15 loss to Almira, Hiram still picked up a pair of victories from first-year Alazhandra Williams (180 lbs) and Emily Lorenzon (207 lbs). Williams also won against John Carroll by fall (1:38) and Emrie Fink (145 lbs) did the same (0:41), although the Terriers also fell short in that dual.

Despite the two losses, the Terriers otherwise had one of their best performances of the season, beating a trio of opponents that figure to be in the mix for the AMCC title at the end of the year.

Six different wrestlers were victorious against the hosts of the event, PSU Altoona, while seven wrestlers won against Buffalo State. Included in those results were wins by junior Lexi Doerflinger (technical fall, 10-0), sophomore Autumn Shoff (fall, 0:37) and Lorenzon (fall, 0:57).

Highlighting the dual win over Alfred State was a victory by first-year Kretina Rai (fall, 2:38), as well as more victories for Fink, Williams and Lorenzon.

Hiram will now set its sights on its first home meet of the season, as the team is set to host the Terrier Round Robin next Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, OH.
