Box Score HIRAM, Ohio – March 6, 2020- The Hiram College women's lacrosse team battled the snowy weather conditions as they dropped a 14-5 decision to Alma, Friday evening.
The Terriers and Scots played to the 12th minute of the second half before the game was called due to weather.
Four minutes into the game, junior Gianna Palmieri tallied the first goal to put Hiram ahead 1-0.
The following minutes were played close with freshman Sophia Leuma tying the score 3-3 with her second goal of the game.
Hiram fell behind 6-2 in the rest of the frame, with senior Tayler Hall posting both of the Terriers' goals.
Despite Hiram trailing 9-4 at the half, they totaled 12 shots and held a 16-10 advantage in groundballs.
Fresh out the break, a trio of unanswered goals from the Scots would put Alma ahead by eight (12-4).
Hall posted the lone Hiram goal of the second, recording her third multi-goal game of the year.
Before the game was called Alma tallied two additional markers to cement their 14-5 win.
Hiram will travel to Clearwater, Florida on Tuesday, March 10 as they take on Washington & Jefferson. The matchup with the Presidents is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start.
