HIRAM, Ohio - July 22, 2026 - Hiram Athletics announced the hiring of Alec Eldridge (Class of 2019) as the fifth head coach in Hiram women's lacrosse history this past week. Eldridge brings coaching and strength & conditioning experience to the program, which is set for its second season in the spring of 2027.

"Alec has proven to be an integral part of our athletic department throughout his tenure at Hiram," Director of Athletics Scott Pohlman said. "We expect him to make an immediate impact on our women's lacrosse program and make the most of his playing and coaching experience in the sport."

Eldridge competed on the Hiram men's lacrosse team during the 2019 season, where he played every defensive position and took faceoffs. He then took on a coaching role with the program from 2021 to 2024 before elevating his role to the Terriers' Director of Peak Performance and Fitness over each of the last three academic years.

"I appreciate Scott Pohlman for giving me this opportunity," Eldridge said. "I want to continue to rebuild the women's lacrosse program and culture here at Hiram. I was excited for some of the successes last year and want to push the athletes through more this year."

While coaching men's lacrosse, Eldridge played a key part in earning Markus Johnson an All-NCAC selection in 2021, particularly through his success on faceoffs that season (0.467). Ambrose Colliluori and Noah Pilgram (twice) also earned all-conference selections with Eldridge on the coaching staff.

Eldridge has made an impact across all 25 of Hiram's varsity sports as the Director of Peak Performance and Fitness; Hiram Athletics has seen a decrease in injuries and faster return-to-play times thanks to his programs for all Terriers student-athletes. He also served in a strength and conditioning role at Archbishop Hoban High School (Akron, OH) in 2018.

Eldridge graduated from Hiram College in the spring of 2019, earning his bachelor's degree in integrative exercise science with a minor in communication.
