LATROBE, Pennsylvania – April 18, 2026 - Hiram College women's lacrosse team dropped a road contest to Saint Vincent College, 19-2, on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field.
The Terriers found an early breakthrough in the first quarter, with
Janelle Steiner taking a free-position opportunity with 3:07 remaining in the first, cutting into an early deficit. Steiner finished with one goal on two shots and added a draw control.
Hiram continued to compete throughout the second half of the match, highlighted by
Sophie Bystrom's fourth-quarter goal at the 9:10 mark. Bystrom finished with one goal on two shots.
In goal for the Terriers,
Emma Fox faced 33 shots over the course of 60 minutes of action, while the Terriers totaled seven ground balls and seven draw controls.
Lainey West led Hiram in draw controls with three, while
Ilyana Sterrett contributed a team-high two caused turnovers.
Despite the result, the Terriers showed resilience with scoring efforts in both halves as they continue conference play on the road.
Next up, the Terriers will return home for their final home game of the season, where they'll take on the Washington and Jefferson College Presidents on Wednesday, at 4 p.m.
