Women's Lacrosse Suffers Loss to Washington & Jefferson

CLEARWATER, Fla. – March 10, 2020- The Hiram women's lacrosse team fell 19-3 to Washington & Jefferson, Tuesday morning.  
 
The Presidents took control of the game early, scoring their first tally in the opening minute, running out to an 11-2 lead. 
 
Freshman Sophia Leuma was the first Terrier to get on the board with an unassisted goal in the 21st  minute. Senior Tayler Hall scored the final Hiram goal of the half off a free position shot.  
 
At the half, the Terriers placed five of their six shots on net, tallying 11 groundballs, and held an 11-9 advantage in clears.  
 
Despite Hiram placing all three of their shots on goal, the Terriers would score just one last time with an unassisted goal from Leuma.  
 
Washington & Jefferson posted eight goals in the last frame securing their 19-3 win.  
 
Hiram will take on day two of the Clearwater, Florida trip on Wednesday, March 11 as they take on Guilford. The matchup is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start.
