Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision to Blue Streaks

Sept.19- HIRAM, Ohio- The Hiram College men's soccer team was defeated by John Carroll by a final score of 3-1, Wednesday night.

The visiting Blue Streaks controlled the opening half, posting two of their three goals in the 18th and 19th minute.

The Terriers looked to get on the board, tallying four shots in the first half. The attempts included two from sophomore Bryce Harding, and a shot a piece from sophomore Giovanni Meza, and freshman Mikyas Maru.

Down by two, Meza opened the scoring in the second half, making the lone Hiram goal of the night in the 27th minute.

John Carroll answered 10 minutes later with their third and final goal. The Blue Streaks secured the 3-1 victory.

Offensively, Meza led the Hiram pack with three of the total nine shots.

In goal, freshman Shelby Edwards made his season debut tallying five saves in his 90 minutes of work.

The Terriers will travel to Crawfordsville, Indiana on Saturday, September 22 to take on Wabash in their first conference matchup of the season. The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
