Box Score April 3- BEREA, Ohio- After an hour and 45 minutes of rain and lightning delays, the Hiram College softball team's contest with Baldwin Wallace ended in a five-inning loss by a final score of 8-7, Tuesday afternoon.
The Terriers now stand at 7-12 (0-2 NCAC) on the season, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 8-8 (2-2 OAC).
Freshman
Giselle Bahena was the top player for Hiram. The catcher shined in the game with two runs and two RBIs.
Hiram finished up the inning with Bahena and
Nikki Budner scoring back-to-back runs on a wild pitch (4-0).
The Yellow Jackets held the Terriers runless in the second an third inning holding a 5-4 advantage heading into the fourth inning.
The fourth inning action did not stop there, Call singled up the middle to help score freshman
Kaitlyn Hager (6-5).
At the bottom of the fourth, Baldwin Wallace tacked on two more runs to take back the lead (8-6).
In the remaining frame, Hiram scored one more time with sophomore
Bebe Grein singling down the left field line to bring home Bahena (8-7).

Chase Martinez shared time on the mound, but Hager led the way in her 3.1 innings of work, recording three strikeouts.
