HIRAM, Ohio – May 7, 2026 – The Hiram softball program was well-represented in the Presidents' Athletic Conference postseason awards, as five Terriers earned all-conference recognition, as announced by the conference in a live steam broadcast on Thursday evening.
Hannah Marlow led the way earning first team honors for the first time in her career. Kayla Prigge and Daynna Mekaru each landed a spot on second team, while Hannah Schimmoeller and Yasmine Clark were named honorable mentions.
This is the seventh straight season in which the program has featured at least three all-conference selections (NCAC and PAC), a remarkable run that dates back to the start of the 2019 season.
Marlow, who was honored as a designated player, picked up the first all-conference nod of her career with a first-team bid. Marlow started in 39 games for the Terriers this season, filling a key role and providing a power presence in the middle of the batting order. She led the team in batting average (.383), hits (44), doubles (10), home runs (5) and RBI (37). Marlow knocked in a career-high five RBI against Utica on Mar. 10, while also finishing sixth in the conference in RBI.
Prigge received her first all-conference honor in her third season with the program. The junior from Lawai, HI posted a career-high .314 batting average for the season and a team-high .419 clip in conference play – while not recording a strikeout through her first 32 games. Behind the plate, Prigge ranked top-ten in the PAC in fewest errors (1) and fielding percentage (.989).
A tone-setter in the Terriers lineup, starting in all 40 games, Mekaru owned a batting average of .327 and on-base percentage of .442 with a team-high 18 walks. Mekaru registered an 11-game hit streak from Mar. 21 to Apr. 13, and now enters her senior year one hit shy of 100 career hits. Mekaru is now a three-time all-conference winner, earning All-NCAC Second Team honors in 2024 and a spot on the All-NCAC Third Team in 2025.
Schimmoeller, a first-year outfielder who emerged throughout the second half of the season, ended her freshman campaign with all-conference honors. Schimmoeller led the team in triples (6), which also ranked second in the PAC. Schimmoeller tallied 11 multi-hit games, with her latest one including the first home run of her young career. She made big strides in the Terriers lineup toward the end of the season – tallying 12 RBI in her last 12 games.
After spending her first two years at Southwestern College (Chula Vista, CA), Clark transferred into the Terriers program for her junior season and made an immediate impact in the circle for Hiram, posting 36 appearances, 22 games started and 139.2 innings pitched. Clark leaned on her control throughout the season, allowing only 21 walks to 46 strikeouts. She led the Terriers pitching staff with a 3.01 ERA, ranking eighth in the conference.Â
Hiram softball will look to build upon its six straight playoff appearances in 2027, when most of the roster is set to return following a fourth-place finish in the regular-season standings this spring.
