HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's lacrosse team dropped a 22-5 home decision to DePauw (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers are now 3-6 on the season and 0-2 in NCAC play, while the Tigers improve to 2-7, 1-1.
Junior Autumn Osgood (Hyde Park, Vt./Lamoille Union) and sophomore Sierah Ray (Tallmadge, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) each registered two goals for Hiram.
DePauw scored the first six goals oft the game to take a 6-0 advantage midway through the first half.
Osgood got Hiram on the scoreboard with just over 13 minutes left in the first half on an unassisted goal.
Following a DePauw score, Ray made good on a free position shot to make the score 7-2 with 9:37 remaining in the first half.
The Tigers had an answer with a goal, but Osgood's second score of the game cut DePauw's lead to 8-3 with 6:13 to play the opening half.
The Tigers reeled off three consecutive goals, before sophomore Katelyn Slomovitz (Kent, Ohio/Roosevelt) found the back of the net with two seconds left in the opening half, to trim the Terrier deficit to 11-4 heading into the intermission.
Ray opened the scoring in the second half at the 27:26 mark.
But it was all DePauw from there, as the Tigers held Hiram scoreless the rest of the way and scored 11 straight goals.
Sophomore Rachel Metcalf (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) made six saves in goal.
The Tigers outshot Hiram 38-12 and held a 18-10 edge in draw controls.
The Terriers will look to rebound as they hit the road for a non-conference tilt at Franciscan on Wednesday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m.
