New Wilmington, PA – September 4, 2026- The Hiram Terrier cross country team traveled to New Wilmington, PA Friday night to open up the 2026 cross country season. The Terriers fought hard, with many impressive results that helped create a successful opening to the year.

On the women's side, the Terriers competed very well, finishing 4th place as a team. Leading the way for Hiram was Elaine Guyette, who finished 13th place with an impressive time of 21:31. Not Not far behind Guyette was McKenzie Riley and Taryn Trem, who finished with times of 22:09 and 22:24. Rounding out the top five were Kylie Moser and Victoria Freeman, who helped the Terriers secure 4th place in a very competitive field.

On the men's side, the Terriers continued to run well, with many athletes securing impressive results. Leading the way for the men was Michael Crosby, who finished with a time of 18:52. Eight seconds later, Ayub Salad crossed the line, completing his first collegiate race with an impressive result. A few places later, Tanner Markley and Aidan Jefferson crossed the line, with Markley finishing 60th and Jefferson finishing 61st.

The Terriers will return to action on Friday, September 11th, when they Travel to Lorain Community College for the Commodore Invitational.
