HIRAM, Ohio - February 3, 2026 - Hiram's Angelina Weems was named PAC Newcomer of the Week, as announced in a release by the Presidents' Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon. Weems joins Aidan Shiels (Newcomer of the Week) and Sam Volpe (Field Athlete of the Week) as the team's three conference-wide award winners over the last two weeks.

Weems set the new program record and now ranks first in the PAC in the weight throw, posting a mark of 14.43m at the Taraschke Team Challenge on the campus of Baldwin Wallace this past Friday. Weems beat the previous Hiram record (12.82m) and placed third overall in the event.

For the indoor season, Weems also placed highly at the Spire Midwest Open during the previous week. Her mark of 12.15m in the weight throw ranked 11th out of 30 student-athletes at that event, and trailed only Division I and Division II competition.

Weems and the rest of the team will now look forward to this weekend, where the team will compete in events both at Oberlin College and Ashland University.
