ALLIANCE, Ohio - January 18, 2026 - Hiram women's wrestling had five student-athletes compete at the Raider Open on Sunday, with Emily Lorenzon (207 lbs) and Cicely Cullins (180 lbs) placing third- and fourth-place respectively in their weight classes to highlight the event.
While there were no team results, Lorenzon spearheaded the individual performances by beating D'Youville's MacKenzie LaForest by technical fall (11-0) to guarantee at least a third-place finish for her bracket. The first-year then lost her next two bouts to finish what was still a successful day.
Cullins' biggest result of the day came against Mount Union's Alexis Wetzel, when she earned a win by fall in just 53 seconds. The Inwood, WV native finished the day with a 1-3 record, but the early win was enough to earn her a spot among the top-four finishers.
Allydia Byard and Alma Morales had a busy day in the 160-lb bracket, including a bout against each other. Byard beat Morales by fall (1:18) and also won against Edinboro by fall (1:04), while Morales won against D'Youville by fall (2:14).
The Terriers will return to competition on Friday and Saturday for the Indiana Tech Warrior Open in Fort Wayne, IN.
