TIFFIN, Ohio - February 21, 2026 - The Hiram women's wrestling team finished up its performance at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Saturday, capping off a two-day event that saw four Terriers wrestlers get a chance to shine on one of the biggest stages in the sport.
Â
Alazhandra Williams (180 lbs) and Emily Lorenzon (207 lbs) both picked up victories during the prestigious event, while Kretina Rai (124 lbs) and Allydia Byard (160 lbs) also competed.
Â
Williams beat Albion's Brooklyn Sage by technical fall (10-0) as part of the consolation bracket. The AMCC Newcomer of the Year also lost to Mount Union's Lori Grimes by fall (0:48) and Otterbein's Raegan Hites in a competitive bout by decision (10-5).
Â
Lorenzon was the lone Hiram wrestler to advance her way to Saturday, as she beat Otterbein's Marvet Hejazin by technical fall (12-2) to continue her way through the consolation bracket. She would eventually lose to Illinois Wesleyan's Alivia Davey by technical fall (11-0), to finish out her weekend with a 1-2 record.
Â
Rai and Byard both went 0-2 despite a pair of hard-fought efforts; Byard caps off her collegiate career as the only senior to be a multi-time all-conference winner, while the first-year Rai has plenty to build upon moving forward in her exciting career.
Â
The Terriers will now set their sights on 2026-27, when the roster looks to return to the National Championships.
