NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania - August 29, 2025 – Both Hiram College cross country programs opened their 2025 season on Friday night at the Fisher Invite hosted by Westminster College. Hiram ran well on both sides, as the women finished sixth overall and the men finished seventh on the night, which featured a 5K race for both teams at the New Wilmington running course.

For the women, Elaine Guyette was the lead Terrier, as she finished 28th overall with a time of 21:04. Not far behind was Kylie Moser, as she ran 21:07 and placed 30th overall. It was a strong season debut for Moser, whose previous best time in the 5K was 22:34.9 in the 2023 Jenna Strong Fall Classic.

McKenzie Riley finished 39th with a time of 21:25 and was followed by Taryn Trem (21:30) in 42nd. The next Terrier to cross the line was MacKenzie Norton in her collegiate debut with a time of 22:13 (49th). Rounding out the top-six was Kairi Etsitty with a time of 24:41 (83rd).

On the men's side, Michael Crosby was the top-runner with a 50th overall place and a time of 18:17. It was the first cross country competition at the collegiate level for Crosby, who missed the 2024 season during his freshman year.

Tanner Markley trailed closely behind his teammate in 55th at 18:31. Three seconds later, Cayden Jones placed 57th and first-year Aidan Jefferson ran a 19:37 to place 70th in his first college event. Connor Green rounded out the Terriers with a 21:45 and an 80th-place finish.

Hiram cross country will be back in action on September 20, when they travel to Allegheny College for the PAC Championship Preview.
