ADA, Ohio - December 6, 2025 - Hiram placed ninth at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday, a strong result given the strength of the field, which was topped by Ohio Northern, Tiffin and Heidelberg.

The Terriers had six different wrestlers earn at least two victories, including freshman Taveon Moss, who placed fifth in the 125-lb bracket, and sophomore Michael Hopson, who placed seventh in the 285-lb bracket. Also finding success on the day was Jackson Bowers (157 lbs), Kaden Duke (174 lbs), Nathan Westinghouse (149 lbs) and Will Brodbeck (149 lbs).

Moss earned his second top finish of the season in the 125-lb class, beating ONU by fall (0:33) and Bethany by major decision (20-6) before dropping each of his next two bouts against Alma and Heidelberg. He then beat Tiffin by decision (9-4) to tie the team-high with three wins on the day.

Hopson matched his teammate with a breakout day on the mat, topping Olivet by major decision (16-3) and Alma by fall (2:02). He beat ONU in the seventh-place match to finish 3-2 on the day.

Bowers, Duke, Westinghouse and Brodbeck each earned a pair of victories to help lift Hiram to the top-10 finish in the event. The Terriers placed ahead of Washington and Jefferson, Waynesburg, Ohio Wesleyan and Randolph College.

Hiram will next take on Mount Union in a dual in Alliance, OH on Saturday at 1 p.m.
