HIRAM, Ohio - October 25, 2025 - Hiram swimming kept things rolling on Saturday afternoon, as the two teams hosted their second meet of the season against a former conference opponent in the Wittenberg Tigers.

The men's team extended their winning streak in dual meets to 10, beating the Tigers by a large margin (146-91). The women's team fell short (171-36), but the individual times were strong as the team continued to find its form in the early stages of the winter season.

Some of the biggest highlights of the day came in the relay races, with David Slovenkay, Jon Hybil, Joe Krosky and Ethan O'Malley teaming up for a first-place finish in the 400-meter medley relay (4:24.96). The result earned Hiram an early 7-point advantage over its opposition.

Owen Pastorius was again phenomenal in the meet, picking up three individual victories between the 1,500-meter freestyle (18:19.98), 100-meter freestyle (57.32) and 400-meter freestyle (4:38.63). Slovenkay was also solid, winning both the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.87) and 100-meter butterfly (1:09.26).

Hiram now has 10 straight wins dating back to the start of the 2024-25 season, marking one of the team's best winning streaks in program history.

Women's Recap

Mya Libertine got some momentum brewing for the Terriers in the 100-meter backstroke, racing her way to a second-place finish (1:28.13). The first-year also placed second in the 100-meter freestyle (1:16.53) and 100-meter butterfly (1:32.41), putting a bow on the best collegiate meet of her career.

Grace Basham swam well in the 50-meter freestyle (34.51), 200-meter backstroke (3:19.47) and 400-meter freestyle (6:20.53) to help establish a strong foundation for the remainder of her senior season.

The Terriers will get a week off before continuing their stretch of home meets on Saturday, Nov. 8 against Bethany at 1 p.m.
