HIRAM, Ohio – November 2, 2024 – The Hiram swimming teams celebrated Senior Day with a clean sweep of Bethany, as the men (137-29) and women (96-43) cruised to victories to improve to 5-0 and 2-4 respectively on the 2024-25 season.
Beyond the wins, it was also a day to honor those who have given so much to Hiram College and the swimming programs on campus, with seniors

Nathan Ratynski,
Landon Hughes and
Natalie Brown all honored before the meet.
Men's Recap
Sauter got his special day going in winning fashion, winning the 200-meter medley relay alongside
Joe Krosky,
Owen Pastorius and Ratynski (1:59.14). The senior then won the 200-meter freestyle (2:06.35) and 100-meter freestyle (56.52) to finish off a three-win day.
Ratynski went on to win the 800-meter freestyle (12.16.19) and placed second in the 200-meter backstroke (2:42.75) to round out his individual results. Hughes also had a strong Senior Day, winning the 200-meter IM (2:39.41) and 400-meter freestyle (4:57.10).
Other victories included
Jon Hybil in the 50-meter freestyle (26.00) and Krosky in both the 100-meter butterfly (1:06.44) and 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.02).
Women's Recap
Haven Papineau was primed for the long-distance race in the early stages of the meet, as she won the 800-meter freestyle (11:24.38) in the third event. The sophomore then showed her versatility by also winning the 50-meter freestyle (31.56) and 200-meter backstroke (2:45.20).
First-year
Madison Fleischer took down the 200-meter freestyle (2:32.35), 200-meter IM (3:04.09) and 100-meter freestyle (1:09.85) to add to her running total of victories throughout her first season at the collegiate level.
Grace Basham added a win in the 100-meter butterfly (1:58.93), too.
Brown, who is in her fourth season with the program, had a memorable day both before and during the meet thanks to a victory in the 400-meter freestyle (5:42.52). She also placed second in the 200-meter IM (3:18.76) and 100-meter breaststroke (1:37.81).
What's Next
The Terriers will host their final meet of the season next Saturday, when the Wilmington College Quakers come to town for a dual meet at 1 p.m. inside Alumni Memorial Pool.
