For the first time since 2009, men's and women's track and field is up and running at Hiram College, with the indoor season set to begin this weekend in Alliance, Ohio. The team is led by head coach Dan Graber, who recently led the Terriers cross country team to multiple personal records this past fall at the NCAC Championship and NCAA Regional Championships.
Both teams will rely heavily on their exciting young talent, with every student-athlete on both rosters entering their first season at the collegiate level. The programs will each have a chance to break a number of school records throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons, with all-conference awards also being a priority.
Hiram College has a rich history in track & field, with the 1985, 1986 and 1987 women's track & field teams all winning the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship and recently being honored as Hiram's "Teams of Distinction" this past fall.
Between the men's and women's programs, Hiram College has had five All-Americans in its history: Les Niehaus (1976), William Edwards (1978, 1979), Bob Kujala (1996), Missy Horner (1995, 1995) and Heidi Gerhardstein (1997, 1998).

Quote From Coach Graber
"We are excited to be bringing the track and field programs back to Hiram. This will primarily be a developmental year for us with our entire team being first year track and field athletes. With that being said, we have talented and hard-working athletes, so I expect that we will see school records go down along with having athletes that challenge for All-NCAC spots."
