12/4/2023 1:05:00 PM

HIRAM, Ohio - December 4, 2023 - The "Terriers of the Week" series for 2023-24 returned on Monday, with Hiram Athletics selecting Anastasia Lawler of the women's basketball team and Seth Holt of the men's wrestling team for their strong performances this past week.

The "Terriers of the Week" will be a weekly series that runs throughout the year, recognizing the student-athletes who performed at a high level during the previous week of competition. Each student-athlete will be mentioned in the weekly article, along with holding a section at the bottom of the Hiram Terriers website under "Terrier Spotlight."

Lawler received Terrier of the Week for her productive and impressive performance off the bench, helping lead the Terriers to their first win of the year. In Monday's 88-71 victory over Defiance, Lawler helped steer an offensive outburst for the Terriers, scoring or assisting on 25 of the team's 88 points in the game. She tied her career-high in points (17) and assists (4) in the win, which also included a team-high 4 three-pointers.

In Wednesday's four-point loss to Heidelberg, Lawler led all Hiram bench players with 9 points in 26 minutes. She went 4-9 from the field and knocked down another three-pointer for the Terriers.

Lawler averaged 13 points, while shooting 53% from the field and 45% from three-point range in the two games this past week. The senior guard is second on the team in PPG (11.3) and 3-pt FG percentage (33%). Lawler and the Terriers return to the court on Monday, when they travel to Thiel for a non-conference battle with the Tomcats at 7 p.m.

Holt also received Terrier of the Week for his big day at the Ohio Northern Invitational this past Saturday. The senior had a stellar day, winning two of his four matches in the 165-lb bracket. Holt picked up those wins over Washington and Jefferson by fall (1:58) and Alma by decision (7-5).

With those wins, Holt earned a spot in the fourth round of the consolation bracket. He would eventually fall to Otterbein by tech fall, but finished the day with four impressive bouts. Holt and the Terriers return to the mats on Thursday, when they welcome the Thiel Tomcats for Hiram's first home meet of the 2023-24 season. The action begins at 7 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium.
