HIRAM, Ohio – November 10, 2023 – Former Hiram student-athlete Marissa Jay, a four-year standout on the women's volleyball team from 2013 to 2016, was named to the NCAC All-Decade team on Friday morning.

The North Coast Athletic Conference is celebrating its 40th season by selecting some of its most accomplished student-athletes from the last 10 years across 23 championship sports.

Jay was a critical part of a Hiram team that had a winning record in each of its seasons with her on the team. The team went a combined 88-37 (.704 win pct) from 2013-16 under head coaches Scott Carter and Aline Scott.

Jay piled up the hardware during her time with the Terriers as the 2013 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, 2016 NCAC Player of the Year, a two-time All-NCAC First Team selection (2013, 2016) and an All-NCAC Honorable Mention selection (2014). The Parma, Ohio native also was a two-time NCAC Athlete of the Week in 2016 and eventually earned the Helen M. Petroskey Award at the end of her collegiate career.

In terms of stats, Jay ranks 2nd in program history with 1,469 career kills and 1,697.5 career points. She is also one of two Hiram student-athletes to have at least 500 kills in a single season (511 in 2016), joining Dawn Martin (566 in 1990). Her 34 kills against John Carroll on Sept. 20, 2016 remain the most in a single match in Hiram program history.

Hiram College and its athletic department would like to congratulate Marissa Jay for earning this prestigious honor and would like to thank her for the impact she's made on the Terriers women's volleyball program.
