HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College men's lacrosse team suffered a 30-2 setback against No. 10-ranked Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers are now 1-7 on the season and 0-3 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops improve to 7-2 and remain perfect in conference play at 3-0.
After OWU jumped out to a 7-0 lead through one quarter, senior Greg Summers (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's) got Hiram on the board with his 13th goal of the season early in the second frame.
Freshman Jared Wright (Richfield, Ohio/Revere) closed out the scoring in the game with his first career goal with just over a minute remaining. Freshman Scott Sangston (Willowick, Ohio/North) picked up his first career assist on the play.
Senior Sawyer Lott (Sunbury, Ohio/Big Walnut) made 17 saves and senior Mike Malloy (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) made nine stops in goal.
The Terriers will return to action on Tuesday, April 5 as they travel to take on No. 6 Denison at 7 p.m.
