Men's Lacrosse falls in NCAC opener to Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- The Hiram College men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-1 decision at Wittenberg in the NCAC opener for both teams on Saturday.

The Terriers are now 0-5 on the season and 0-1 in NCAC play, while the Tigers improve to 4-2, 1-0.

The Tigers scored seven times in the opening period and added seven more goals in the second to build a 14-1 halftime lead.

Senior Greg Summers (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's) tallied the lone goal for Hiram at the 2:42 mark of the first half, with sophomore Nick Rollason (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) recording the assist.

Junior Charley Haley (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) posted a team-high four ground ball pickups and also went 10-of-18 on faceoffs.

Hiram will be back at it on Wednesday, March 23, with a home contest at home versus Franciscan that is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
