BETHANY, W. Va. -- The Hiram College women's swimming & diving team fell in a close road meet at Bethany (W. Va.) by a 91-88 score on Saturday.
The Terriers are now 2-7 on the season, while the Bison are 2-5.
Sophomore Jenni Heid (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) won a pair of events to lead Hiram. She touched first in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.05 seconds and was first in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.23.
Senior Rachel Patten (Castalia, Ohio/Margaretta) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.52 and junior Meredith Fitschen-Brown (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) touched first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:19.46.
The 400-yard medley relay team of freshman Sierra Daniels (Mesa, Ariz./Dobson), Fitschen-Brown, Heid and Patten won in 4:43.76.
Patten also recorded a second place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, touching in 12:14.92, while Fitschen-Brown was second in the 200-yard I.M. in 2:36.63.
Junior Emily Kelly (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) was second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:28.23 and senior Marian Bade (Macungie, Pa./The Perkiomen School) recorded a second place finish in 6:02.73.
The Terriers will take the holidays off and return to competition on January 9 by host NCAC foe Wittenberg at 1 p.m.
