Box Score GRANVILLE, OHIO -- The Hiram College men's lacrosse team was defeated by Denison University, 27-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game and season finale in Granville.
Denison (12-2, 7-0 NCAC) scored its first goal of the game at the 10:32 minute mark of the first quarter. The Big Red kept the offensive attack going adding 10 more scores in the period to lead 11-0 after the first 15 minutes. In the second quarter, Denison found the back of the net eight more times to increase the margin to 19-0 at the intermission.
The second half featured more scoring by the Big Red with six goals in the third quarter and two more scores in the fourth. Hiram (1-11, 1-6 NCAC) recorded seven shots on the night, but could not net a goal as Denison went on to post the 27-0 shutout.
In net for Hiram, freshman Sawyer Lott (Sunbury/Big Walnut) started the game and played 45 minutes and had 15 saves. Fellow freshman Mike Malloy (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) played the final 15 minutes, but did not record any saves.
Hiram caps its 2013 inaugural season with its matchup against Denison.
