Terriers, Gators Draw At 2-2

Johnson's Offensive Outburst Leads Terriers

HIRAM, Ohio – September 30, 2026 – The Hiram College men's soccer team played to its fifth draw of the season Wednesday night, battling Allegheny College to a 2-2 tie at Henry Field.

The Terriers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Jimmy Zeilmann found the back of the net in the second minute to give Hiram an early 1-0 lead. Alex Lineen assisted on the goal, with Isaac Rogenthien also credited with an assist following a corner kick.

Hiram doubled its advantage in the 14th minute when Reginal Johnson scored his own goal. Carmine Boscarello and Jayden Julian provided the assists to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead.

Allegheny responded just four minutes later when Cole Bowser found the back of the net in the 18th minute, cutting Hiram's lead to 2-1 heading into halftime.Terriers goalkeeper Derek Ufholz was tested throughout the remainder of the first half, making several key saves to preserve Hiram's lead heading into the break.

Allegheny tied the match seven minutes into the second half when Arthur Every scored off an assist from Bowser.

Both teams continued to create opportunities throughout the remainder of the match, combining for 30 shots. Ufholz finished with a game-high six saves.

The Terriers also avoided a late setback when Allegheny appeared to take the lead, but the goal was overturned following a review that determined a foul had occurred during the play. Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the remaining minutes, as Hiram and Allegheny finished with a 2-2 draw.

Hiram moves to 3-1-5 on the season and will return to action Saturday, October 3, when the Terriers travel to Waynesburg for a matchup with the Yellow Jackets. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at John F. Wiley Stadium.
