Greenville, PA -  September 26, 2026 - The Hiram Terrier Football Team Traveled to Greenville, PA Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the Thiel Tomcats, which was the first PAC matchup of the year for the Terriers. Hiram dominated the game from the start, not allowing any chance for the Tomcats to earn their first win of the season. Hiram would cruise past Thiel with a final score of 32-19.

The first quarter of the game would be dominated by the Terrier defense, not allowing the Tomcats to score. The Terriers would make a huge fourth down stop on a long Thiel drive, keeping the game knotted up a zero, which would be the score at the end of the first. In the second quarter, Hiram would strike early, where quarterback Sean Tejeda would find Dylan Hargas for a 17 yard score, giving the Terriers the 6-0 lead. It looked like the Terriers were going to take that lead into the half, but then the Terriers struck late in the second, when Kade Scott intercepted the ball at the 20 yard line and take it back for a Hiram pick six. This would give the Terriers a 12-0 lead heading into the break, with stellar defensive play leading the charge for Hiram.

Coming out of the break, the Terrier defense would still remain strong, shutting down the Tomcat offense while keeping the lead. The Hiram offense would add another score late in the third, when Tejeda would find Devin Tufts down the sideline for a 68 yard score, extending the Hiram lead to 18-0, which was the score at the end of the third. In the fourth, the Tomcats would get on the board first, cutting the Terrier lead to 18-7. Hiram would then respond on the next drive, where Tejeda would once again find Hargas in the end zone for a score, extending the lead to 26-7. This passing touchdown would also be a new record, as Sean Tejeda broke the career passing touchdown record on that score. On the next drive, Jay'l Diaz would recover a Tomcat fumble, which led to a TJ Allen score on the short field, giving Hiram a 32-7 lead. Thiel would add two scores late, but it was not enough, as the Terriers dominated the Tomcats for a 32-19 victory. 

Leading the way on the offensive side of the ball was Sean Tejeda, who finished 12/19 with 203 yards and 3 passing touchdowns in a great day for Hiram. Leading in the receiving category was Dylan Hargas, who would have 6 catches for 89 yards and 2 touchdown catches. Devin Tufts would also have a great day, as he would finish with 68 receiving yards and a TD. On the ground, Isaiah Livingstone would finish with 13 carries for 98 yards, and RJ Johnson would finish with 12 carries for 91 yards, capping off great days on the ground for the Terriers.

On the defensive side, Kade Scott would lead the way finishing with 1 INT for a TD. Jay'l Diaz and Ocir Kimble would also add an INT, as Thiel would turn over the ball four times. Diaz would also finish with 6 tackles, as he and Joshua Bohurjack would finish with that number, which led the Terriers. 

This victory marks Hiram's first 3-0 start to a season since 1987, as the Terriers have won each game in convincing fashion. When asked, Head Coach Xavier Dupree said " To be 3-0 means a lot ... these guys have worked over the offseason and camp to get these results." 

Hiram football will return to action next Saturday, October 3rd, when they welcome Saint Francis University for the first time ever to Charles A. Henry Field at Malmisur Stadium, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
