HIRAM, Ohio – September 23, 2026 – Hiram College men's soccer dropped a 3-0 decision against Geneva College on Wednesday night at Reeves Field.
Entering Wednesday's game, the Terriers led the PAC in goals against with three, while the Golden Tornadoes were right behind them with four. Hiram had also not been outshot in any game this season until Geneva outshot the Terriers 16-7. As two outstanding defenses matched up tonight, it was ultimately Geneva breaking out offensively and coming away with a dominant three-goal win.
Jayden Julian led the Terriers with Hiram's lone shot on goal. Hiram also showed its depth, with seven different student-athletes registering a shot.
Despite the three goals by the Golden Tornadoes, Derek Ufholz managed to record five saves. Ufholz made a great attempt on Geneva's first goal, as he came up with a deflection, but the ball managed to sneak just below the crossbar.
Geneva fired three consecutive shots on target, with Ufholz saving the first two before the third shot snuck past him in the 80th minute, putting Geneva up 2-0.
Jimmy Zeilmann and Simon Schonfeld commanded the Terriers' backline, making multiple efforts to stop Geneva's attacking attempts.
Hiram will continue its road play as it travels to Chatham University on Friday night to take on the Cougars. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
