HIRAM, Ohio– September 1, 2026- The Hiram men's soccer put on a defensive show on Tuesday night at Hoernemann Stadium on the campus of Heidelberg University, recording their first clean sheet of the season. 

It was a defensively dominated game for both teams, as the Terriers backline and Student Princes backline only allowed 19 shots combined with seven shots on goal.

Reginal Johnson led the Terriers with three shots and a shot on goal. Simon Schonfeld had an early opportunity in the 10th minute with a shot on target that was saved. From there, it was all defense until Johnson fired his shot on goal in the 80th minute in desperation to break the deadlock at 0-0. Jayden Julian and Jimmy Zeilmann also had a shot on goal. 

Looking to build off a superb freshman year — Derek Ufholz saved all three Heidelberg shots on target. 

Hiram now moves to 0-0-1 and will travel to Mount Union on September 5th for an afternoon matchup with the Purple Raiders at 1 p.m. at Kehres Stadium.
