HIRAM, Ohio - September 5, 2026 - Hiram men's soccer finished in a 1-1 draw against Mount Union on the road at Kehres Stadium on Saturday afternoon.Â
Following a quick Purple Raiders score in the 16th minute of the match, Hiram's senior defender Jimmy Zeilmann found junior midfielder Carmine Boscarello in the 33rd minute to tie the game.Â
It was a physical game for both sides. Each team committed more fouls than combined shots (11). The Terriers outshot Mount Union 6-5, while the Purple Raiders held the edge with shots on goal, 3-2.Â
Boscarello paced Hiram with two shots. The Purple Raiders were led by Alex Depperschmidt with three shots, two of which were on goal.Â
Hiram was able to control things with its' defense after the early score and also applied pressure with five corner kicks to Mount's three.Â
The Terriers (0-0-2) next match will be the backend of a double header with the women's team on Tuesday, September 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm against the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (2-0).Â
