HIRAM, Ohio - July 22, 2026 - Hiram Athletics announced the promotions of Colton Chovanec and Sarah Seaman (Class of 2026) as Co-Directors of Sports Information for 2026-27. The pair brings a combined nine years of athletic communications experience to the Terriers SID office, an exciting development for a department that supports all 25 varsity teams in a number of areas.
"Colton and Sarah have thrived in our sports information department since coming to Hiram," Director of Athletics Scott Pohlman said. "I'm thrilled to promote them to leadership roles and expect them to build upon their recent years of experience."
Chovanec enters his second year with the department, previously serving as an Assistant Director of Sports Information in 2025-26. His skillset is highlighted by stats inputting and stats calling for all sports, while also serving as the official public address announcing voice for Hiram hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball and more. He has already contributed over 100 player bios and 50+ articles for the Hiram Athletics website, as well as experience covering Hiram sporting events in Fort Myers, FL (Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic - Baseball) and Morgantown, WV (PAC Outdoor Championships - Track & Field).
Prior to Hiram College, Chovanec racked up four years as a student-worker at Alma College, where he helped in gameday operations, collecting/analyzing stats and producing social media content. During his time away from Alma, he spent his summers working with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a Trackman Operator. He also was employed as a Paraprofessional at Breckenridge Community Schools in Breckenridge, MI following his graduation from Alma in 2024, when he earned a bachelor's degree in Communications.
Seaman is in her first year as a member of the Hiram administration, previously serving as a Student Manager within the department this past year. She has worked each of the last four academic years in sports information, two of which came at Fredonia State (2022-24) and two with the Terriers (2025-26). Seaman has inputted stats for every sport at Hiram College, has worked in every gameday role, and has written game stories for men's basketball, softball and other sports throughout her career. Seaman has also compiled information for over 100 player bios of Hiram student-athletes and is responsible for updating multiple record books.
Beyond sports information, Seaman was an All-PAC Honorable Mention selection for the women's basketball team in 2025-26. She led Hiram and posted single-season career-highs in PPG (16.1), 3-pointers (56), free throws made (55) and starts (25); the Garrettsville, OH native had a special presence with the program both on and off the court as a team captain, too. She capped off her career as a CSC Academic All-District Selection before graduating from Hiram with a bachelor's degree in sport management this past May.
Both Chovanec and Seaman are pursuing master's degrees in sport management and officially begin their new roles with the department on August 1.
