Hiram Drops 2nd Game Of DH vs Geneva

Terriers Fall In Makeup Game At Home

HIRAM, Ohio – April 20, 2026 – Hiram dropped the latter half of a conference doubleheader against Geneva College, 9-0, on Monday afternoon at Myrtis E. Herndon Field.

The doubleheader began on Mar. 31 but was suspended in the fourth inning due to weather. The resumption of the doubleheader was then moved to Apr. 6 – Game 1 was eventually completed that day, but a rain delay jeopardized the daylight of Game 2. The two teams decided to finish the doubleheader on Monday afternoon, as the game is a crucial component in the PAC standings for both teams.

The Golden Tornadoes controlled all of Game 2 with nine runs off eight hits. They delivered a steady blow – scoring multiple runs in four of the six innings.

Hannah Schimmoeller set up Hiram with their best scoring opportunity of the day with a double to right field. Yasmine Clark bunted Schimmoeller over to third base but could not make her way across home plate.

Kayla Prigge extended her hit streak to four games – the junior has recorded a hit in nine of her last 10 games. Megan Moser, Avery Contini and Daynna Mekaru contributed a hit apiece.

Clark and Contini each spent three innings in the circle for the Terriers. The duo combined for four strikeouts.
