HIRAM, Ohio - April 12, 2026 - Hiram baseball celebrated its 13 seniors and held a special pregame ceremony for the group of student-athletes on Senior Day at Proverbs Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Terriers dropped both of its games to the Quakers, 8-1 and 4-1, but not without plenty of memories for another deep and talented class.
This year's senior class included Matthew Trimble, Ben Yoder, Brady Isgro, Drew Mason, Logan Gallentine, Kalib Ruch, Kenny Mikalauskas, Tyler Fernandez, Max Alexander, Owen Cooper, John Bender, Jimmy Rockow and Cody Horvath. Every one of these players was honored individually before the game, and every healthy player appeared in the doubleheader.
Wilmington won both games behind its starting pitching, as starters Brad Miller and Trent Mendenhall each threw a complete game between Games 1 and 2 respectively. The Quakers had four crooked numbers to take control in the opening contest and then scored three late runs to come from behind and win Game 2.
For the Terriers in Game 1, Bender spearheaded the offense with his second home run of the week, a solo shot to left field. The Northfield, OH native now has five home runs for his four-year career.
In Game 2, Luke Snider put Hiram in front with an RBI double in the first inning. Trimble also had a multi-hit effort out of the cleanup spot in the batting order and Nick Licursi tossed five innings of one-run ball on the mound, but three unearned runs in the seventh inning proved to be the difference in the tightly contested affair.
Hiram will be back in action on Tuesday, when it returns to PAC play and hosts Chatham at 1 p.m. from Proverbs Park in Hiram, OH.
